Cauliflower steak grilled

crispy cauliflower steak, what a fun snack!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cauliflower
  • 1 egg
  • oat milk
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 3 tbsp oat flour
  • gluten-free cracottes or rusks / toast
  • coconut oil
  • 1/2 mango

Instructions

  1. preheat oven, 180 °C / 355 °F.
  2. cut cauliflower into slices.
  3. prepare 3 deep plates or bowls:
  4. in 1st plate : beat egg with a dash of plant-based milk, season with salt & pepper.
  5. 2nd plate: add some oat flour.
  6. 3rd plate: firstly, put toast or crackers in a zipper bag, use rolling pin to crush into breadcrumbs. Pour breadcrumbs on 3rd plate.
  7. dip & turn cauliflower slices in the plates following the exact order below:
    • egg sauce
    • flour
    • egg sauce again
    • finally, patch through breadcrumbs
  8. in a frying pan, heat some coconut oil, quickly brown cauliflower slices on both sides.
  9. on a lined baking sheet, place cauliflowers in oven to continue cooking, about 15~20 minutes
  10. puree mango, serve as a dip with the crispy cauliflower.
